Marvelous Montana

MONTANA

Montana, is such a beautiful state and really should be on everyone’s bucket list. Unfortunately, during my stay the wild fires were extreme and I had to cancel my trip to Glacier National Park. I have been dreaming about seeing Glacier National Park ever since I was a young. However, it didn’t make sense to see such a beautiful place covered with smoke. It just means that I will have to co me back!

Flathead Lake:

Flathead Lake, is located in Kalispell and is a lake has over 200 square miles of water. It is also the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi and in the lower 48 states. It’s a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains  which on any day where it was not covered by smoke would be a go to place for any tourist wanting that Instagram worthy photo.

Smokejumper Vistor Center:

Smokejumpers are wildland firefighters who parachute into wildfires. It is an extremely dangerous job which only the brave do. Many of the smokejumpers are Veterans.

Missoula, Montana is the home of largest base in the entire country. It is also the only one which you are able to visit. You are able to have a tour of the facility by an actual smokejumper. You were able to see what they wear, eat and even the planes that they jump out of.

With all the forest fires happening in Montana at the time I was there it was very eye opening to come visit this facility. So many brave people risk their lives to save ours and our planet. I would 1000 percent recommend to anyone coming to Montana to stop by Missoula and check this place out!

Sykes Diner and Market:

Sykes is located in Missoula and is not only a pharmacy but a diner and market. When you walk into this drug store type building you look to your left and there is a diner and to your right is the drug store. It’s the most unique thing that I have ever seen. They even have affordable early bird specials. Definitely try the loaded hashbrowns if you want a something so delicious that it doesn’t seem right!

Montana Grizzly Encounter:

Montana Grizzle Bear Encounter is a rescue and education sanctuary located in Bozeman Montana. It started in 2004 and they have expanded from there. This place is definitely one a kind. You are able to watch Grizzly Bears in their natural habitat. You are close enough that you can really get a good look at them. Watching how the move and walk to how they drink and play in water. It’s really fascinating and definitely a place to visit for people of all ages.

Ted’s Montana Grill:

If you are in Bozeman I would head to Ted’s Montana Grill. If you are looking for some delicious steak this is the place to go! I decided to have a burger this time around since they are always the best at steak houses. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious this was! It even surpassed my expectations.

Gallatin Gateway Camping:

If you head to Montana in the summer camping is the way to go. With it’s mountains and wildlife it’s almost surreal. The greenery, the water, the sounds of animals in the near distance. I have camped alot during my road trip and this location has to be one of my favorite camping spots. Even the drive was STUNNING. I felt like I was back in Alaska.
