The Expeditions

Her Goal: Overcoming tragedy is something everyone faces. Perhaps it’s because to experience great highs, we have to know how to conquer terrifying lows. That’s something Rachael is intimately familiar with. Everyone has experienced their own highs and lows, but it’s how we handle those situations that ultimately define our own sense of character. After suffering the loss of both of her parents to cancer by the age of 30, Rachael decided that she wanted to live her life to the fullest and not watch it pass her by. Cliché as it may sound, she knew that part of living ‘life to the fullest’ would mean taking on her greatest dream—without compromise.

"Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."
- Albert Einstein

Her Motto: Rachael’s goal is to show the world that people should not fear traveling to places on their own, rather they should embrace exploration, regardless of sex, class or financial status. Rachael continues to educate herself through her travels, in part by staying in tune with the political, gender, and social justice issues of the world at hand. She hopes to give back to others what she has taken away from her expeditions. As Albert Einstein said, "Only a life lived for others is a live worthwhile."

She has produced hundreds of hours of programming for television.

Professional Biography: Rachael’s story really begins where so many have before her: New York City. After graduating from college with degrees in International Broadcast Journalism and Applied Science, she found herself in the Big Apple, steadily navigating her way from an internship to a job.

No sooner were her dreams of becoming a reporter put on the back-burner. After landing her first project working for a production company in downtown Manhattan. She fell in love with working behind the scenes. It’s a passion that led Rachael to producing everything from commercials and promos, to upfronts and longform documentary series for some of the biggest networks in the business.

Since making her way into TV, she has produced hundreds of hours of programming for networks such as CNN, Food, Cooking, A&E, PBS, Discovery, HLN, Outdoor, Spike, VICELAND, Amazon, Netflix, Travel. Rachael currently resides in California, but works on a number of bicoastal high-profile projects.

The Trip: After losing their mother to cancer in 2014, Rachael and her sister, Danielle, needed to get away from it all. They decided on a 7-day trip around Mexico — it would be the necessary escape, and one, they hoped, would be filled with an abundant about of tequila, tacos and sleepless nights. This was just what they needed in order to take their mind of things.

And the rest is history.

After Mexico, Rachael was instantly hooked on to travel! She loved the culture, the people and the food. As soon as she came back to the States, she started making lists of all the countries she wanted to visit, and all the adventures that she wanted to embark on. For the first time in her life, she felt like she was finally living, and there was no going back from there!

In just four short years since her Mexico excursion, Rachael has traveled alone to over 20+ countries.

So, what’s on her travel résumé thus far? Deep dives with great white sharks. Hot air balloon rides over the Serengeti. Evening strolls across Abbey Road and through the Khmer Rouge fields in Cambodia. Traveling in a mokoro down the Okavango Delta. And taking way too many selfies outside the Taj Mahal.
